In the post-9/11 world, between 2001-2003, I had completed both my book, HOME FRONT and its companion CD, JUST WAR.  In 2003, my then spouse, Croatian visual artist Branko Gulin (who I met at Vermont Studio Center in 2001 and married in 2002), was working on a series of drawings and asked if I had any poetry to go with them.  The result was our collaboration, JUST WAR, after my CD title.  Three of these drawings are also featured in my book, HOME FRONT.  A second collaboration occurred in 2008, during my PRESENTE! live show of poetry and hand drumming.  During this show, Branko painted spontaneously, creating one painting during each of my performances.  A detail of one of those paintings, same-named after my prose poem, "Monocle Man," is featured on that single's cover art.
